General Information:

The IEC 60320 C13 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 15 Amps. The C13 mates with a C14 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. Most people know the C13 as 'the thing that plugs into my computer' because it is the standard connector used to power most desktop computers. In a desktop computer application, the most common cable is the NEMA 5-15P to C13, which connects your standard North American wall outlet to a desktop computer. The iec 320 c13 c14 plug and connector are synonymous with Information Technology equipment primarily, but the C13 can be found powering equipment like medical devices and gaming consoles.

The IEC 320 type C13 connector is designed to connect to the IEC 320 C14 plug and inlet. The C14 Inlet is commonly found on a variety of IT Equipment like monitors, switches, printers, power adapters, and more.

General Information:

The IEC 60320 C15 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V & 10 Amps Internationally and 125V/250V & 15 Amps in North America. The C15 mates with a C16 inlet and can also be down graded to a C14 Inlet. C14 Inlet and is commonly used in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. The C15 is a HIGH TEMPERATURE connector rated up to 120°C, unlike the 70°C rating of the C13. The C15 is commonly used in in electric kettles and other household appliances that involve higher temperatures than a normal C13 is made to withstand. There is a dimple located below the ground pin to ensure that the standard C13 connector cannot be plugged into the C16 Inlet which is used on high temperature applications. This design is utilized to allow this C15 connector to be used on both high temperature applications and standard applications, as to not limit the user. The C15 connector is commonly used with 18awg SJT(OW), 16awg SJT(OW), and 14awg SJT(OW).

This inlet is commonly found on high performance IT Equipment that reaches heats that exceed the rating of the standard IEC C13 connector. This inlet is designed to reach temperatures up to 120*C. The C15 can also be plugged into a standard non-high temp application C14 Inlet, which is located on a wide variety of IT Equipment like computer monitors and switches.

General Information:

The IEC 60320 C19 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 20 Amps. The C19 can be found on a variety of power cords, including NEMA to 320 Adapter cords, and International Plug types to IEC 320 connectors, but the most common application is the IEC 320 C20 to C19 power cord which is a a standard extension cord used to power high powered IT Equipment. The C19 is typically used in high powered blade server chassis, large network routers, and other IT equipment that draws more power than a standard C13 can accommodate.

The IEC 60320 C21 is a grounded 3 Wire connector rated up to 250V and 20 Amps. The C21 mates with a C22 or C20 inlet, and is commonly used in a jumper cable scenario in IT Installations providing power from a PDU to a server, router, switch or other computing device. The C21 is a HIGH TEMPERATURE version of the C19 connector, with a maximum pin temperature of 155°C instead of the standard 65°C of a C19, and is typically used in high powered blade servers, large network routers, and other IT equipment that draws more power than a standard C13 can accommodate. The corners are beveled so that a standard C19 cannot be plugged into the C22 Inlet since it is not high temperature rated and could be a fire hazard.

IEC 60320 C22 InletThe IEC 60320 C21 connectors is designed to connect to the IEC 60320 C22 Inlet, which is commonly found on high powered IT Equipment that exceeds the standard 65*C Temperature rating of a C20 Inlet. These inlets are found on switches and routers.

The NEMA L6-20R Twist-Lock Connector is rated up to 250VAC and 20A. This couples with the L6-20P and locks into place, eliminating nuisance disconnection. This makes this connector common in commercial and industrial settings where there is high traffic. This connector is found on our L6-20 Extension Cord Series, which is used to extend power from an existing L6-20R wall receptacle or connector to a certain location for convenience.

The NEMA L6-20P Power Cord Series is rated up to 250VAC and 20A. The plug can be locked into place on the matching receptacle which prevents nuisance disconnection. This feature makes this plug popular in commercial and industrial settings where high traffic or moving of equipment is common. If you do not require this added locking safety feature, you should look into our NEMA 5-20P Power Cord Series unless your specifically connecting to a L5-20R. Refer with your team to decide which power cord best fits your needs. 


The NEMA L6-20P to Open/Whip/Pig Tail- NACC, North American Color Code, refers to the color code of the conductor insulation which is BLACK / WHITE / GREEN. This cord is for field installation to equipment or device that requires a line, neutral and ground conductor (not exceeding the rated power of the cord) to operate. Standard Whips are Removed Outer Jacket(ROJ) 2" and then each conductor is stripped 1/4" to bare conductor. Other ROJ/Strip combinations are available for bulk quantities upon request.

The NEMA L6-20P is a 3 wire grounded plug with a hot, hot and ground pin rated up to 250V and 20A. This plug can be locked into place on the matching receptacle which prevents nuisance disconnection. This plug is commonly found on in-rack power distribution units (PDU) where standard electrical service exceeds 125V, also in industrial settings to supply power to equipment or power tools.

General Information:

The open end of a power supply cord is hard wired to another device, providing power either to our from that device. Unless otherwise noted, our power supply cords come standard with a 2" ROJ (Remove Outer Jacket) and a 1/4" Strip. The ROJ length determines the length of the individual conductors, and the Strip length determines the amount of copper exposed on the end of each conductor. If you require a custom ROJ or Strip length, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
